Cumberland Island is the southernmost Sea Island in Georgia. The island is now a National Seashore and thus is protected from further development. The island was owned by the Carnegie family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Several impressive houses were built during that period. The island also has significant historic interest. It is a beautiful, largely unspoiled island with miles of beach frontage and stretches of undisturbed natural setting.
